Silver Stars is a short film produced by Meridian showcasing the lives of five LGBTIQA+ elders in Canberra.

Each “Silver Star” has a very different story to tell. Common themes are their experiences of stigma and discrimination, not just as a gay, lesbian or gender diverse individual, not just someone living with HIV or as a sex worker, but as an older person. Silver Stars provides an insight into what aged care providers can do improve their inclusive practice and not drive older LGBTIQA+ people back into the closet. Their stories are rich and diverse, heartfelt and honest.
